Café 66 in Kesgrave sits comfortably within the Scout Hall of the 1st Kesgrave Scout Group, offering a community-focused cafe experience that feels both welcoming and unpretentious. It’s the kind of spot where regulars—often locals of a mature age—come for simple, homemade treats and friendly conversation, largely supported by volunteers and young adults with learning difficulties. This community-minded setup shapes a relaxed and inclusive atmosphere rather than a hustle typical of busier commercial cafes.

The menu leans into classic British café snacks, with highlights like fresh sausage rolls and scones served with butter, jam, or cream. The food clearly prioritizes freshness, reflected in moments such as guests waiting patiently for a Victoria sponge to cool before it’s filled. The drink selection is straightforward, with standard espresso-based coffees alongside hot chocolate, fruit juices, and milkshakes—all affordably priced, reinforcing the café’s welcoming vibe.

Given its location inside a Scout Hall, the space is modest and functional rather than fancy, perfect for casual meetups, a quiet coffee break, or light lunch stops. Mid-mornings or early afternoons are probably the best times to drop by, when it tends to fill with locals who appreciate the friendly staff and the easy-going environment. There is a strong sense that this isn’t just about food and drink but supporting a local cause, which adds a layer of meaning to the visit.

Visitors looking for a quick bacon roll or a comforting jacket potato alongside a hot drink will find Café 66 a straightforward and pleasant pit stop. It fits neatly into the Kesgrave neighborhood as a quieter, community-oriented alternative to busier commercial cafes, ideal for anyone who values fresh, homemade fare in a warm, unruffled setting.

A great place and for a great cause. I was my first time eating there with friends. The food was all fresh and the marmalade cake was sublime. The staff were lovely and friendly. I'd definitely go back. Thank you Cafe 66 and Anita for asking us there x

Cheap and cheerful. Customers generally regulars who are of mature years .Run and on behalf of young adults with learning difficulties which makes it a worthwhile enterprise. A somewhat limited menu due to restrictions on use by the Scouting organisation who own the premises. Basically an excellent community cafe

Lovely friendly atmosphere. Food is so fresh we had to wait for the victoria sandwich to cool before the filling was put in.
